Review Ratings of All-Clad D5 Set
The ultimate 5-ply construction makes this one of the most durable cookware set with high heat conductivity.
Suitable for all kinds of stovetops including induction, gas, electric, glass, ceramic etc.
You will definately not be disappointed with the superior quality and cooking performance of this set of pots and pans.
If there is one brand of cookware that is phenomenal, worth every penny and has durability like a tank, then most probably it has got to be the All-Clad D5 cookware set.
The D5 10-piece set is arguably the near-perfect All Clad stainless steel cookware around. Well…another cookware brand that is the closest to this quality is the Cuisinart MCP-12N Multiclad Pro which you can find out more on that review post.
For now, let us a take a deeper look at the All-Clad D5 review below.

All-Clad D5 vs Tri-Ply
So what is the difference between the Tri-ply and All-Clad D5 cookware line?
The Tri-ply bonded cookware consists of 3 bonded layers which are made of stainless steel as the base, aluminium core as the center layer and the 18/10 grading as the cooking surface.
The All-Clad D5 brushed on the other hand is constructed with 5 alternating layers of stainless steel and aluminium.
The base is made of superior magnetic material which is great for induction cooking.
In my opinion, the main differences are the handles, rims, weight and the number of bonded layers.
The All-Clad D5 pots and pans weigh slightly heavier than the Tri-ply due to more layers but at the same time they feel sturdier, especially the handles.
The D5 cookware rims are curved so it’s easier to pour and less likely to spill. Whereas for Tri-ply line, the rims are flat.
Cooking performance wise, I do not see much difference between the All-Clad tri-ply line and D5 line.
I believe both models will exceed your expectations but All-Clad D5 may slightly edge it since it’s less prone to warping.
Why Choose All-Clad D5 Cookware Set?
The All-Clad D5 10-piece pots and pans are one of the best cookware I have ever used. Many consumers have feedback the same to me.
Like anyone else, I was skeptical at first about the high price range.
However after trying and using the cookware set, I understand why they are priced at that range.
The D5 cookware set fulfills almost every area of my cooking needs be it searing, sautéing, broiling or braising.
When I did browning on the meats, the pans can really transfer the heat evenly and hold up heat well enough to perform the technique.
When sautéing, I just need to use medium heat and the heat is just right to cook perfectly.
This D5 brushed stainless cookware may look as heavy duty as they really are, but don’t be fooled by the looks and assume they are that heavy.
On the contrary when I tried out this set, I was a little surprised by their weight. The set is slightly lighter than what I thought they would be.
This definitely helps me when the cooking gets longer, heavier and more tiring.
When it comes to cooking experience, their signature 5-ply constructed layers (known as D5) ensures that heat conductivity and response time is at its best.
What does this mean?
Good heat conductivity simply means that heat is easily transferred from the cookware surface to the food in a short amount of time.
So when it happens, you will not get under-cooked food on the inside and burnt food on the outside because the heat is evenly distributed fast enough.
Though these All-clad pots and pans do not have a non-stick feature like those non-stick cookware, they are designed to be cleaned easily.
If you are able to find some time to wash the cookware, you will realize how little efforts you need to wash them. You will definitely agree that the idea of using the dishwasher is a redundancy.
There are of course downside to this All-Clad D5 cookware set as well.
In fact, anyone who tells you about a cookware that does not have any flaw or downside is definitely not telling you the real truth.
Besides the steep price tag that the brand slaps on this cookware set, I would admit the set may weigh pretty heavy for some people.
There should be gives and takes for any product. The pots and pans may be heavier but we are talking about one of the most superior cookware pieces here.
Which heavy duty cookware constructed by durable materials doesn’t produce that extra weight?
If you are someone who loves to keep the cookware extremely clean and polished, you may want to consider using the help of the Bar Keeper’s Friend cleanser.
The great cleanser can totally clean off stubborn stains and make your cookware look new like you can never imagine!
But do take note that while this cookware set is made of durable grade materials, it does not promise scratch-free surfaces.
So while using any cleanser, use it sparingly if you are very particular about leaving potential small scratches on the surface.

Where To Buy All-Clad D5 Cookware?
You may be able to find this set of pots and pans on most of the huge online e-commerce stores.

When I reviewed on this All-Clad D5 10-piece cookware set, I tried to make sure that this wasn’t a one-sided view or opinion.
It was evidently supported by consumers’ feedback and the extensive research done by my excellent team.
Without any surprise, many of them felt that the price of this set of All-Clad pans was a little on the steeper side.
However most of them agreed the pricing matches the superior quality, performance, durability and versatility of the cookware the brand claimed it to be.
Basically the set is a multi-purpose cooking set that combines every element needed for a great cookware into a single build.
