Ninja is at it again with compact food processors that perform in a way that easily gives justice to the brand name. In true ninja fashion, this appliance chops and minces your everyday food in a few quick seconds, taking the stress and the hassle out of meal preps especially when you are in a hurry and have no time to fumble.
Take some time to read our Ninja Express Chop reviews below and find out why this machine made it in our best mini food processors list.
Ninja redefines small food processing with the Express Chop. It is an ingeniously designed device with a 3-cup processing bowl, a no-slip base, and a power head that contains the motor and the power button in one little area.
The blades are exceptionally sharp, managing to chop, grind, and blend just about anything you throw at them in just a few pulses. Cleanup is not an issue either because all of the Express Chop’s parts save for the power head are safe to be put in your dishwasher’s top rack. The power head, on the other hand, can be cleaned with just a damp cloth.
Finally, it is so compact and lightweight, measuring about 10 inches tall and almost 6 inches wide and weighing 2.4 pounds. You can tuck it away in any corner of your kitchen cupboard and bring it back out as often as you want without any trouble at all.

3-cup Processing Bowl
The Ninja Express Chop’s work bowl is made of high quality, BPA-free plastic that serves its purpose well while being absolutely safe to be used for food preparation. BPA stands for Bisphenol A, an industrial chemical compound used in plastic materials used on many consumer goods, including kitchen utensils and appliances. Concern about BPA has been steadily growing recently due to studies showing possible evidence of its harmful effect on human health.
Ninja is one of the companies that are exerting the extra effort to make sure that their products are completely free of this potentially harmful agent.
There is a thin rubber-like material that coats the outer part of the work bowl’s base. This coating helps improve friction between the mini chopper and the surface it is on so that you do not have to press on it as forcefully just to keep it still while chopping.
The power head of the Ninja Express Chop houses a 200W motor. 200W sure sounds insignificant on paper but performs extremely well in this neat little processor. We believe it is just the right amount of power for the kind and amount of work this mini chopper is designed for.
Splash Guard/Storage Lid
The unit comes with a nicely designed splash guard that doubles as a storage lid. We like this feature because hey, who manages to blend the exact amount every single time, right? If you have anything left over that you may possibly want later, you can simply leave it in the processing bowl and secure the lid tightly on it with the center tab closed completely.
The Ninja Express Chop has one speed setting. It is nowhere near what other choppers have, but seriously, how many speed options do you need for a few gulps’ worth of fruit smoothie? Although you can’t manipulate the speed to change how finely it cuts, you do have full control over how many pulses it does and how long each pulse lasts by holding down the power button on the power head.
The unit comes with an ultra sharp 4-blade assembly that can effortlessly slice through various fruits, nuts, and anything else that is edible. It even manages to chop garlic evenly, which is something other mini choppers have a difficult time doing because of how garlic tends to lump together stubbornly. The blades also do a good job of chopping solids finely without turning them into mush, a nightmare many cheap processors often leave us with.
What Others Say About Ninja Express Chop
The Ninja Express Chop’s features look impressive. However, you always need to look at consumer reviews in order to have a balanced perspective before making your purchase.
Most of the positive reviews of the Ninja Express Chop talk about the sheer power of the motor and the blades. People are using their choppers to process a huge range of spices and other kinds of food and are amazed at how well the Ninja Express Chop evenly and finely cuts the food.
A number of customers point out that food frequently gets stuck near the top part of the blade assembly near the motor, which can be hard to clean. So far, that is the only recurrent concern we are noticing. Other complaints are about factory defects and other isolated cases that can’t be avoided.
Things We Liked
Simple to use
Dishwasher-safe, portable, compact
Things We Didn’t Like
You still have to hold the bowl because there is no suction under the base.
We absolutely love how the Ninja Express Chop does its job without coming off as pretentious. It does not come with a long list of features but sure uses what it has to their full potential.
This mini chopper seems to have everything you could possibly ask for in a qualified machine: power, convenience, and ease of use. It would perform a lot better if it had suction cups, but having to operate it with two hands is really a tiny price to pay compared to the benefits it brings. If you are looking for another alternative, the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus may be able to fit your bill as well with its high-quality design.
It is the perfect compact food chopper for you if your meal prep tasks are within quick and basic chopping, mincing, blending, and grinding.
